Creepy QT Halloween Party
Press Release 10/22/25
QT Summer Camp is hosting The Creepy QT Halloween Party, this Saturday, October 25th, in North Charleston. This event celebrates our second full summer of outdoor camps for Queer and Trans kids and connects campers and families to community resources.
QT Camp creates affirming communities for LGBTQIA+ children and families through camp programs focusing on education, empowerment, and self-advocacy. We are proud to offer these camps free of charge, and grateful for our donors who make that possible.
On Tuesday, our all-volunteer staff was made aware of a social media post by a prominent political figure. In this post, the QT Halloween Party was targeted with harmful and hate-filled language and ideas. QT Camp condemns the use of Queer and Trans children as campaign fodder.
“QT Camp was created in 2023 as a response to South Carolina legislators failing our most vulnerable children,” states Kyndra Luce, QT Camp Director. “We will continue the vital work of creating supportive, inclusive programs for these kiddos. We hope for a future in which our elected officials join us.”
QT Summer Camp celebrates campers by providing a safe space for the community that queer and trans kids, like all children, need to thrive. Join us in supporting, celebrating and protecting our campers and their families. Register for the Creepy QT Halloween Party at qtcamp.org, sign up to volunteer, or donate to support this event and our year-round programs for Queer and Trans kids. From the parent of a QT Camper: “Before QT Camp, my child was isolated and had begun self-harming. I believe that QT Camp saved his life.”
